Once in a Blue Moon

 Here's Looking at you Mr. Armstrong.

Friday was a Blue Moon. The moon wasn't really blue--it is a term for the 2nd full moon in a month. This one was even more significant, because Neil Armstrong died last week. Neil Armstrong was the first person to walk on the moon. He said,  "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

To honor Neil Armstrong and simply enjoy the gorgeous full moon and wonderful night weather, El Jay and I slept out on the balcony. I created this image of him while we were playing around. The moon was small over his shoulder and I enlarged it here. It was over exposed, so I gave it a cartoony look and used a poster filter so it wouldn't look like a giant blown-out white dot. I like how the two flash flares in his binoculars look like reflected moon and a strange terrain.
