A Bra Named Indigo

A BRA NAMED INDIGO.

Some of you may follow my blogging at The Sisterhood of the Traveling Bras. It began as a simple photo project for a class and a little bit of a protest and was a lot about ME and where I was in my life five or so years ago....but it was not about breast cancer. This little projectt grew into something else with a mind of it's own. And then.... I discovered a lump in my right breast and everything changed.

I don't think I had a choice. I doubt the Sisterhood would have let me pretend life was normal and fine. The girls declared we would document my cancer experience. I would take my camera to every doctor's appointment and infusion and whatever else and I would take pictures. I would blog my experience. Yet, I needed a companion to help me... and Indigo the Bra was born. Indigo is like Jennifer the Traveling Bra. She craves BLING! The idea is for people to send me pins or charms or key-rings, etc.... instead of a get well card. The BLING! represents love and prayers and well wishes. I pin the BLING! to Ms. Indigo and she flaunts it in her medical related photo sessions.

That is how it works. I love Indigo.

If anyone reading this would like to contribute to Indigo the Bra's BLING! It On! Project, you may send us some BLING! at:

Ogden Utah Photo Location

The Boy and I went on a location scouting excursion. The Ogden Union Station and surrounding area is perfect for an urban themed location photo shoot.

The Boy pointed out that this Little Engine has a big smile :-)  This Little Engine and myself have the same mantra, "I think I can, I think I can.... I can.... I can...." As I battle cancer I have had to limit my activities, but I know I will beat this and heal and then I plan to be a well known photographer.

No No No...

This is my brother Wayne. He is a talented graphic artist and wants to start a business making T-shirts.  He asked me for my help as a consultant for new businesses and strategic communications to help him set it up and promote the business. A huge early decision is naming the company. He was considering Waniacs, but we began discussion WHO he is and whether he'd want to be visibly involved in the business. He decided yes, so we began playing with the fact that he is also known as No Nose Wayne. He liked the idea of naming his business No Nose or Know No's or No No's....? We finally decided to use "No Knows Clothes."

This impressionistic shot of Wayne riding his bike is possibly my favorite from this shoot. The first T-shirt he has had printed is of a bike tire and reads, "Go Psycholing."

He likes this banner to use on his Facebook business page, except with No Knows Clothes and he plans to draw something to add to this. This look will be what we use for hang tags and other branding.

July 4th in Riverdale Utah

Every year the tiny city of Riverdale has a big 4th of July celebration called Old Glory Days. El Jay and I attended the morning parade and watched fireworks from our driveway. My health issues prohibited me from going to the activities at the park.
